The NYC Delaware basin reservoirs continue to operate under “Revision 1” with water releases augmented by the voluntary “4-party agreement” (NY, PA, DE, and NYC) to ensure the protection of the UDR cold water ecosystem. The voluntary releases will be critical as the weather continues to warm in the Upper Delaware watershed. We are told that all five Decree Parties have resumed negotiations on a long term reservoir plan. Indications are that the discussions are moving forward on an ambitious plan and in a positive direction. We will keep you posted as we learn more.

FUDR/Bill Canfield Fly Fishing Camp:

Our first week of camp was a great success!  Our campers learned how gear up before getting on the water, fly casting, fly tying, basic entomology, river ecology, and stream stewardship. They tied flies, learned how to cast with their new Orvis rod and reel, and went on field trips to the Beaverkill and the East and Main stem of the Upper Delaware River.  Our kids made lots of new friends and had a great time at the beautiful French Woods Sports and Arts Camp.  A big “Thank you!” to the NJ TU State Council for providing all of our fly fishing campers with a year-long youth membership in Trout Unlimited.  We also extend our appreciation to the Delaware River Club and the White Tail Country Fly Shop for donating goodie bags full of cool fly gear for each camper.  And thanks to everyone who made a donation to the camp scholarship program, to all of our volunteers who came and shared their expertise, and to the Canfield Family for making all of this happen.  We hope that all of the campers left ‘hooked on fly fishing’.  We have a few spots open for August 6-13!
