FUDR APPLAUDS TROUT UNLIMITED

National Trout Unlimited (NTU) and its New Jersey, New York and Pa Councils have recently issued a position statement regarding the Flexible Flow Management Program (FFMP) set forth by the Parties to the Decree, September 30, 2007. This statement asserts that the policy, if approved by the DRBC in May, 2008, will cause significant damage to the established wild trout fishery in the Upper Delaware River. In particular, if the plan’s current release schedule is not changed, it will result in high summer water temperatures in the main stem and lower West branch that will be lethal to its trout and surrounding cold water habitat.
