WATERSHED MAPS AND INFORMATION

East of Hudson Watershed Map

SIGNIFICANCE OF RONDOUT RESERVOIR:

1- Water is diverted from the Cannonsville, Pepacton and Neversink Reservoirs to Rondout Reservoir.

2- The water in Rondout is dedicated for NYC use only.

3- RondoutÂ’s capacity is not considered in drought curves; accordingly negatively impacts releases for the fishery.

4- Capacity of Rondout is 49.6 billion gallons; reservoir is consistently kept at or near capacity.

5- At current NYC consumption (which has been declining over the past four years) Rondout alone maintains enough water to fully service NYC for seven months.

CAPACITIES:

Cannonsville 95.7 Billion Gallons

Pepacton 140.2 Billion Gallons

Neversink 34.9 Billion Gallons

Rondout (Not Counted) 49.6 Billion Gallons
