Michael Buthe
Mike began fly fishing as a child on the banks of the Beaverkill and his passion for chasing trout and salmon expanded from there to many locations including Alaska, Argentina, Chile, Montana, New Zealand, Russia and the English chalk streams. This has helped reinforce something not to be taken for granted -- the Upper Delaware offers world class opportunities to pursue and catch large, selective trout during impressive insect hatches, particularly during our spring season. FUDR is uniquely focused on protecting this priceless resource and ensuring future generations will have the opportunity to enjoy its rewards.
Mike is also a Life member of Trout Unlimited and Theodore Gordon Flyfishers. Previously, he served in various volunteer and board roles with NYCTU, NY State Council TU and Catskill Waters. He resides in New Jersey and Montana and recently retired from a career in Finance and Investment Management that included living in Argentina and the United Kingdom. His business travel took him to countries throughout Latin America, Europe and Asia. His wife, Sheila, and he have two children, Matthew and Caroline. Both of them continue to enjoy spending time with dad in his drift boat.
