Delaware Aqueduct Shutdown Postponed until October 1, 2023

The NYCDEP just notified us that the shutdown of the Delaware Aqueduct has been postponed until October 1, 2023.

Here is the announcement from NYCDEP:

For several reasons NYCDEP is not in a position to shutdown the Delaware Aqueduct this fall.  The schedule is now planned for October 1, 2023 through May 31, 2024.  This new timeline will ensure that NYCDEP completes and tests new system configurations and that outside communities are also prepared for the shutdown.  There will be more to come on communications and work that we are doing as part of this shift.

We will relay additional information as it develops.

For the River,

FUDR engages communities and people to protect the river and the world class wild trout fishery, revitalize local economies, and build strong coalitions at the local, regional, and national level.

In collaboration with our many valued partners, FUDR has brought over $4 million dollars into the UDR Watershed for stream restoration projects.
